JOB DESCRIPTION

Asptuna prison in Norsborg is an open prison with 182 places in security class 3. Beateberg prison in Trångsund is a closed prison in security class 2 with 72 places and an open module, Grindstugan, with 8 places. Adjacent to this is Beateberg detention center with 65 places. Clients serve sentences ranging from 14 days to life. At the prisons, studies are conducted at basic and high school levels, carpentry activities, and labor market training in plumbing and large-scale catering/restaurant.

The placement for this position is at Asptuna prison.

You will start your employment at the workplace where you will receive an introduction for three weeks. After a period of service, you will be offered a place in Kriminalvården's basic training, which is mandatory and lasts for 8 weeks. You will receive a salary throughout the training period. During the probationary period, ongoing assessments will be conducted regarding your eligibility for permanent employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Your personal qualities are important to us. As a correctional officer, you need to be secure, stable, and have good self-awareness. Since you will be working with your colleagues to run the operations, you need to have good teamwork skills and the ability to communicate clearly. Good judgment and integrity are required in your professional practice. You must have a physical condition that enables you to act physically when the situation requires it. We place great emphasis on personal qualities.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Work experience, including seasonal work, part-time employment, or self-employment. Internships and volunteer work are not considered equivalent to employment.
• Completed high school education or other education combined with work experience that Kriminalvården deems relevant.
• Good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.
• Good computer skills.

It is advantageous if you have:

• Work experience from corrections, security work, social care, psychiatry, or healthcare and social work.
• Knowledge in relevant areas, such as behavioral science, criminology, psychiatry, law, and conflict management.
• Relevant language skills beyond Swedish.

OTHER
